Alumni Guests Inspire Students at Adhyapana School’s 16th Annual Sports Day

Adhyapana School (CBSE), Madurai, erupted in cheers and excitement on July 13th, 2024, celebrating its 16th Annual Sports Day for students from Stds. VI to XII. Students from all grades displayed enthusiastic participation, along with teachers and parents.

The day commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest. Energetic students then showcased a synchronized march past, followed by a prayer.

The air grew thick with excitement as the Dean of Academics, Mr. Visesh Aiyer, hoisted the National Flag, while the Chief Guest Mr. Palani Chamy, unfurled the Olympic Flag, symbolizing the spirit of sportsmanship. The Olympic Torch was then lit, signifying the official start of the games.

The School Pupil Leader led a pledge, followed by the Sports Captain taking an oath, demonstrating their commitment to fair play and good sportsmanship. Mr. Palani Chamy, the Chief Guest, then declared the Sports Meet officially open, much to the excitement of the assembled athletes. Grade IX students captivated the audience with their well-coordinated and energetic mass drill. The track roared to life as students from Std. X to XII unleashed their speed in the 200m and 400m races. The energy crackled as baton exchanges ignited a fiery display of teamwork in relay races across various age groups for both girls and boys.

The Dean of Academics delivered a warm welcome address, emphasizing the importance of sports in fostering a healthy and competitive spirit. Following this, Sr. Principal, Mrs. Aruna M Visvessvar, introduced the Chief Guest, Mr. Palani Chamy, Founder and CEO of BROWN CLUB, an online fitness community, and the Special Guest, Mr. Siva, an Aeronautical Engineer, highlighting their achievements as school alumni. Principal, Mrs. Rincy Jose, then presented them with mementos as a token of appreciation.

The Chief Guest emphasized the importance of consistent exercise routines for overall health, while the Special Guest also motivated the students through his speech. Both the alumni reminisced about their school days, adding a nostalgic touch to the event. Parents participated in a special ‘Lucky Corner’ offering a lighthearted game perfect for their participation.

The day concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Senior Coordinator,
Mrs. Arputha Rajam, to all those who contributed to the event’s success. The National Anthem marked the official closing ceremony.
