Adhyapana School (CBSE), Madurai, was abuzz with excitement on July 12th, 2024, celebrating its 16th Annual Sports Day for students from Pre-KG to Std. V.
The arrival of the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. B Ramesh, Proprietor of Active Garments, was followed by the students showcasing their delightful march past and a prayer.
The National Flag was hoisted by the Dean of Academics, Shri Visesh Aiyer, while the Olympic Flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest. The Olympic Torch was then lit by the Sports Captain. The School Pupil Leader led a pledge, followed by an oath emphasizing fair play being taken by the Junior Sports Captain. The Chief Guest declared the Sports Meet Open, much to the delight of the young participants.
The Dean of Academics, Shri Visesh Aiyer, welcomed the gathering, with emphasis placed on the importance of sports in promoting physical activity and teamwork.
A fun-filled day unfolded with a variety of age-appropriate activities. Kindergarteners stole hearts with their harmonised Kung Fu Dance. Pre-KG students tackled puzzles, Std. I hit the bullseye with bow and arrow, Std. II threw javelins and footballs, KG 1 played hockey, and Stds. IV & V aced the ball drill. Relay races for all age groups added the finishing touch.
The Vice Principal, Mrs. Chitra Swaminathan, warmly introduced the Chief Guest to the assembled crowd. As a token of appreciation for his graceful presence, the Headmistress,
Mrs. Chitra, then presented him with a memento. The Chief Guest’s inspiring words resonated with parents and students alike, emphasizing the value of perseverance and teamwork.
A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by the Senior Headmistress, Mrs. Yamini Visalachi, to all those who contributed to the event’s success. The National Anthem marked the conclusion of the day filled with laughter, cheers, and a sense of togetherness.
