We recently had the opportunity to attend a seminar on Career Guidance for students of Grades 10, 11, and 12 organized by our School, Adhyapana School, CBSE on 14th November 2024 – a valuable learning experience on Children’s Day. The seminar was graced by the presence of Mr. Balan, the Chairman and Managing Director of Padmarajam Institute of Management.
The seminar was inaugurated with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Catherine Ma’am, HOD – Commerce. Our Senior Principal and Correspondent, Mrs. Aruna M Visvessvar, introduced the esteemed chief guest.
Mr. Balan enlightened the students about various career options, including CS (Company Secretary), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), and CAT foundations. He highlighted their roles and demand in the current job market.
We also learned about the influence of the Big Four accounting firms—Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG—and how to pursue careers in these global corporations. Moreover, Mr. Balan emphasized the growing importance of fintech, green tech, blockchain, analytics, artificial intelligence, and robotics. We realised about emerging jobs and how traditional jobs are being replaced by AI.
A memento was presented to the Chief Guest by Principal Mrs. Muthumala as a token of gratitude. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Balamurugan.
Overall, the seminar was highly informative and broadened our perspective on career options.
